i blew up my mxz 583 a couple of weeks ago because it was running too lean..how cam i fix it so that it doesn't happen again??

change your jetting...check your oil pump..make sure your not geettin air to the pistons,like a crack in your rubber carb boots, loose bolts on the heads...

Ya you got a problem with stock jetting 583s run rich the plugs should be black and they are pigs on oil also.

we checked the boots they are fine, head bolts are torqued to specs..can i change the jetting my self and how do i do it or do i have to have a mechanic look at it???

yep ..you can change them yourself, take the carbs off turn them upside down, take the bottom bowl off, you'll need a little screw driver. the jet will be in a little hole maybe a 1/4 of in inch wide if that...the jets size will be diffrent on that 583 one jet is bigger than the other.i'm not to sur if it's tha mag side or clutch...you'll have to call for the specs

check your crank seal behind the primary clutch, 583's are prone to blowing out crankseals there.

i'll take a look at it but ,how would a crank seal effect the piston??
shit all of these problems are pissing me off, i am about 2 seconds from selling it, i juss wanna ride

it wouldn't be crank seals....it's the jetting or your pump needs setting

i think i found out wut the main problem was
the piston that blew, the carb on that side had a jet that was clogged
